Teaching Today, Leading Tomorrow - Peak High School

Students from Peak HS joined other students from across the region to attend Discovery Day 2025 at the Wyoming Air National Guard Base in Cheyenne on September 25, 2025. The Wyoming Air National Guard hosted its fifth annual Discovery Day, welcoming more than 1,000 students to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on exhibits and demonstrations from more than 45 exhibitors. Discovery Day is an annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) event hosted by the Wyoming Air National Guard, providing students, educators, and families with hands-on activities and interactive exhibits from military, industry, and higher education partners to explore career paths and future opportunities. Our students were able to experience:

  • Hands-on activities: Attendees can engage with cutting-edge technology, robotics, and other interactive displays.

  • Career exploration: Students can explore career paths in aviation, engineering, and skilled trades by interacting with professionals and learning about various opportunities.

  • Exhibits: There are exhibits from partners like NASA, the University of Wyoming, the Civil Air Patrol, and others, offering a glimpse into different fields.

  • Immersive experiences: The event includes virtual reality experiences and opportunities to explore real military aircraft and operations.

Students at Peak HS have also completed over 20 courses since the start of the school year and are making progress towards meeting graduation requirements. Last Friday as part of their WIN time, they had a game day to foster positive relationships. They are also planning their next college exploration day to visit Casper College in November.
