The National History Day (NHD) program is a year-long education program that culminates in a national contest every June. Wyoming History Day (WHD), administered by the American Heritage Center, occurs every year in April, with regional contests occurring in March.
Wheatland Middle School students in grades 6-8 grade have the opportunity, through the help of their advisor Mrs. Birt, to engage in the process of discovery and interpretation of historical topics. Our students produced imaginative exhibits and multimedia documentaries related to the annual theme, "Rights & Responsibilities in History." These projects were evaluated at local and state competitions, and have the opportunity to being sent to the national competition in Washington DC.
This year all six of our History Day team members have qualified for national competition! Wheatland Middle School offers a wide range of successful student clubs with dedicated advisors.
