The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has expanded the * Flood Watch to include portions of western Nebraska and Wyoming, including the following areas, in western Nebraska, Banner, Morrill, and Scotts Bluff. In Wyoming, Converse County Lower Elevations, East Platte County, and Goshen County. * From Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon * Severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon that may bring heavy rainfall to saturate soils. A more widespread moderate to heavy rain event looking to take shape Monday and Tuesday across the central Nebraska Panhandle into eastern Wyoming plains. Additional rain accumulations of 2 to 3 inches are not out of the question for Monday and Tuesday across the central Panhandle into Goshen...East Platte and Converse Counties in southeast Wyoming. This rainfall likely fall on saturated soils and most will likely runoff into stream and low lying areas. Areas of flooding and flash flooding are possible Sunday night and especially Monday through Tuesday. * Additional rainfall will create rises of area streams and rivers as well as low lying areas with poor drainage.
