Susie Schomburg, 20-21 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Teacher of the Year, Susie Schomburgof Platte County School District #1’s Wheatland High School. Transplanted from Phenix City, Alabama, Susie has been teaching in the district for 35 yearsThis is her 40th year as an educator!  Starting her #oneplatte1 career as the District Diagnostician, she is both certified in Special Education and Social Studies. Ms. Schomburg, known as “Schom” by many of her students, was an easy choice for Teacher of the Year as she embodies what it means to be a great educator. Described by her colleagues as “diverse,” and “attentive,” Susie often exceeds expectations and goes above and beyond for her students; using a variety of teaching strategies and taking an interest in their personal lives. Dedicated to her profession, she has also been Wheatland High School’s Student Council Advisor for several years as well. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys riding horses and being an aunt and a great aunt! Please help us to congratulate and thank Ms. Schomburg for her hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm.
