Wheatland High School Welcomes New Principal Troy Lake
Wheatland, WY — Wheatland High School is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Troy Lake as the school’s new Principal. With more than three decades of experience in education and administration across the state of Wyoming, Mr. Lake brings a wealth of leadership, vision, and dedication to the students, staff, and community of Wheatland.
Mr. Lake’s professional journey reflects a deep commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement. He most recently served as Principal of Triumph High School in Laramie County School District #1 from 2019 to 2025. Prior to that, he led Fort Mackenzie High School and the John C. Schiffer Collaborative School in Sheridan and held principal and associate principal roles in Platte 2 and Converse County school districts.
With a personal mission focused on creating systems and relationships that support the full potential of students and staff, Mr. Lake is known for his optimistic leadership, integrity, and strong communication. He consistently prioritizes instructional excellence, collaborative team development, and a culture rooted in student success.
“I am excited and honored to join the Wheatland High School community,” said Mr. Lake. “My goal is to build upon the strong foundation already in place, while working collaboratively to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and personally.”
Mr. Lake holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from South Dakota State University and a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from Western Montana College. He is also a certified School Improvement Specialist through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
