WHS Music Department Presents Working: The Musical

Recently, WHS students performed ‘Working,’ under the direction of Stephanie Bradley.  The musical is based on the Studs Terkel book Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do (1974), which has interviews with people from different regions and occupations, including a delivery boy, a stay at home mom, a mill worker, a teacher, and more. This rendition featured live music provided by Band Director, Evan Bradley. This is the second musical the Bradley’s have produced including last year’s performance of ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’

The entire cast consisted of only 20 people, including 16 students, 14 of whom performed. Rehearsals were held almost every day for 8 weeks in order to prepare.

The production was held at The Harmony Project due to the construction of the WHS auditorium which didn’t seem to affect attendance. The show opened with an audience of about 100 people on Friday, February 25 and closed with 2 performances on Saturday.
