Friday, September 6

As many of our community members have heard, one of our female high school cross-country runners was struck by a vehicle during practice here in Wheatland this morning at approximately 6:45 am. Both coaches were within seconds of attending to and stabilizing the scene of the accident. The student was transported to the local hospital by ambulance where she was stable and alert.  She is now in Cheyenne for further observation and will be staying overnight.  Please keep this student and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

This is just a reminder with the beginning of our school year that many of our students are out and about in the community either catching a bus, walking to school, or participating in activities.  Please be alert and aware of the increased student foot-traffic.
