Wheatland FFA Host Region 5 District Speaking Contest
This year the Wheatland FFA hosted Region 5 district speaking contest at the Agri-plex on February 24th. Seven chapters and 17 students came to compete, four of which were Wheatland FFA members competing in the FFA Creed contest (Emma Crowley and Peyton Teten) and Extemporaneous public speaking contest (Nolan Allen and Carly Robertson). All individuals did an outstanding job and all four members from the chapter made it through to regionals. The Wheatland FFA officer team helped host the event by being the Master of Ceremonies, time keeping, word check, set up and tear down. Members of the team include: Kaidyn Kasun, Carly Robertson, Chase Rasnake, Katie Miller, Autumn Henthorn, Nolan Allen, Corinne Gaby, and Chaizley Williams.
Finally, the Chapter would like to thank the following: Platte County Fair Grounds for allowing us to host at the Agri plex, WHS wood shop for engraving of the plaques, and the parents and Mr. Weigel who came to support.
The chapter just completed regional speech in Casper on 3/10 at Casper College. All four individuals did an exceptional job and two were fortunate to be moving on to State in Cheyenne. Members moving onto compete at State are Emma Crowley (Creed) and Nolan Allen (Extemp)
