Learning Lives Here - Wheatland Middle School

The WMS morning Ag classes have been working collaboratively to build a shed. The classes started the year by reviewing safety procedures and working with tools to learn their uses and how to safely use them. A few weeks into the semester, Mr. Haroldson asked if they could build a shed to put their knowledge to the test. Mr. Haroldson partnered with Capstone Industries, a local general contractor in Wheatland, who donated the materials for the project. Students have learned how to read and follow construction plans, learned how to communicate with each other and learned to communicate with the other two classes. The project will finish up later this week. The classes plan to sell the shed in the next few weeks. Under Mr. Haroldson’s direction, students have learned important skills that transcend classroom learning and real world skills.
