Teaching Today, Leading Tomorrow - Wheatland High School

Our Integrated Science field trip to the Laramie River Station on Wednesday, March 25, offered a fascinating, firsthand look at large-scale energy production. After donning their hard hats and safety gear, students were guided on a comprehensive tour of the Basin Electric facility, where they explored the complex machinery that provides essential energy to both our local communities and regional grids extending as far as Canada. Seeing the sheer scale of the turbines and cooling towers helped bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world engineering. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Laramie River Station for opening their doors and sharing their expertise with our students. We also want to thank the parents who accompanied us; your support and supervision were essential in making this high-voltage learning experience a success!
