Glendo School Celebrates 100 Days of Learning, Literacy, and Community
Students and staff at Glendo Pre-K through High School have been busy wrapping up the third quarter with several fun and engaging activities that brought learning and community together.
One highlight this month was celebrating the 100th Day of School along with Dr. Seuss Week. Students participated in creative activities throughout the week, including making 100 shaped donuts to mark the special milestone. Many students also dressed up as grandmas and grandpas for the day, adding plenty of laughter and fun to the celebration.
In honor of Dr. Seuss, students enjoyed themed treats and activities. Students sampled green eggs and ham and created fruit filled “Cat in the Hat” snacks. Students also took on a fun measurement challenge—seeing how many Glendo students it would take to stretch the length of the school hallway. The final result? The hallway measured 81 Glendo students long!
To continue encouraging a love of reading, the school has launched a March Madness Book Bracket competition. Throughout the month, teachers are sharing their favorite books with students. Students then vote for their favorites as the books advance through tournament-style brackets, creating excitement around reading and discovering new stories.
Glendo School also recently hosted a school and community Hollywood Glam dance, bringing together students, families, and community members for a memorable evening. Middle school and high school students played a big role in organizing the event by decorating the gym and preparing all of the refreshments. The dance was a beautiful night filled with music, laughter, and community spirit, and it was a hit with everyone who attended.
As the third quarter comes to a close, Glendo School continues to prepare for upcoming testing and strive for academic excellence. Glendo FFA students recently participated in district competitions, where Tra and Kendra qualified to advance and will compete in speaking events at regionals. Several Glendo FFA members are also preparing for practice judging events as they get ready for the upcoming State FFA competition. Through it all, the school continues to find creative ways to celebrate learning while strengthening connections within the school and the community.
