Teaching Today, Leading Tomorrow - Wheatland High School

Public Statement on High School & Community Partnerships Supporting Student CDL Pathways
PCSD #1 and Wheatland High School is proud to strengthen meaningful community partnerships that expand opportunities for students and support the workforce needs of our region. One of the most impactful collaborations has been the development of pathways that allow students to earn their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) while still in high school.
Through partnerships with, and funding from, our local community college (EWC), the WTDEA-Casper Chapter, and parents, along with Perkins federal grant money, students are able to gain access to hands-on learning, professional mentorship, and industry-aligned instruction. These relationships ensure that our students graduate not only with a diploma, but with advanced credentials that create immediate employment opportunities in a high-demand field.
This program reflects our commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. By connecting education with real-world experience, we empower students to build essential skills, contribute to their community, and enter the workforce with confidence and purpose. We are extremely grateful for the strong partnerships that make this possible and remain dedicated to creating innovative pathways that meet student needs and support the vitality of our local community.
