Platte County SD #1 has been studying a 4-day week for the past several years and has also been following other districts in Wyoming who have implemented this type of school calendar. The staff have been surveyed over the past four years with overwhelming support for exploring this option further. The school board would like your feedback to determine whether this should be a consideration for the 2020 or 2021 school years. We have created a survey to get your input on this topic, which is accessible by clicking HERE.

A 4-day week would have to be approved by both the school board and the Wyoming Department of Education following state statute.  This survey is just to get a sense of your initial thoughts. Public meetings would then be held to discuss specific plans such as school day length, Fridays, etc. We have established a separate page on our website with links to articles and a study that was completed by our Chugwater students a year ago if you would like more general information about the issues presented by this change in our calendar. Click HERE to access that webpage.

We will be collecting data until next Thursday, January 17 and the data will be presented to the school board at their regular meeting on January 21st.  If there is support to explore further, more information will be provided at that time regarding other ways for you to be involved.
